In terms of wardrobe is better to have more than less. Bring everything that you think you might like to wear, I will help you choose which pieces would work better for the concept, preferably solid colors.

Boudoir Photography
If you are interested in, or never heard of, a Boudoir Photography session this will explain a little bit for you.
Meaning
What is Boudoir Photography? According with the Websters Dictionary "A boudoir is a lady's private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. The term derives from the French verb bouder, meaning 'to pout'."
In Boudoir Photography the term describes a revealing style of photography that looks to capture the woman’s beauty in her intimate realm. It may be done including lingerie, implied nude, or nude. This style is usually performed for different reasons, for example: as special presents in occasions like, but not limited to, weddings, birthday, St. Valentine's, anniversaries, maternity, body changes or alterations, etc. Maybe as a special gift for a husband, boyfriend, friend, etc. Or just as a way to capture how you look at that moment and be able, years later, to look back in time and say, "wow, I did look good!" Done tastefully and with care it is one of the most beautiful portrayals of a woman. The aim is to feel and look sexy.

Legal stuff (read boring)
When you hire a photographer to do a photo session the product will be photos of you. Who owns the photos? No, it is not whoever pays the photographer to photograph, except in some specific instances. In the US the federal law states that the copyright of any creative work belongs to the creator; in the case of photographs, the photographer owns the copyright at the moment he/she clicks the shutter and the image is recorded. When a client hires the photographer the copyright stays with the photographer, unless he/she transfers that right to the model. That does not happen often for it will be very expensive.
You may ask now, "What am I paying for then?" Aha! What you are actually buying is, depending of what the agreement is, a copy of that image (print or digital). If you go and have your photo taken at any department store's photo department, or even school photos of your child, you do not own the image, the copyright belongs to them. What you get is a license, called Usage License, which states what you can do with those images. That is why a reputable photo lab would not copy, reproduce, or print photos without an usage license. Understanding this will avoid any unpleasantries on those occasions a model/client starts making unreasonable demands in terms of the photos. Yes, almost everything is negotiable, but for most photographers this is not, and I am one of them.

TF Shoot
What is a TF shoot?
If you are a new model probably you do not know what this term means. TF, short for 'Time For' is an exchange of work and photos. No, this does NOT mean "Free Photos". It means that the same amount of work will be performed by both the photographer and the model, like in a regular photoshoot, but there is no exchange of monetary compensation. This is usually done as a way to develop or refresh portfolios, try new techniques or equipment, etc. In the modeling agency world it is a common thing but it is called 'Testing'. TF came from a less formal realm; at first it was 'Time for Prints' (TFP), 'Time for CD' (TFCD- images in a compact disc), and now a more generic term is simply 'TF'.
I have performed TF shoots quite often for it gives me a chance to try new things and help out models. Now I am been more selective and concentrating in some specific styles like: Beauty, Artistic and Fine Art nudes, Bodyscapes, Boudoir, Glamour (nude and non nude), Lingerie, High Fashion, Swimwear, among others. If you are interested in being considered for a TF shoot, feel free to contact me.
General Pre-Shoot Preparation
- A good night sleep is important, you need your rest.
- During the previous 24hrs of your session drink lots of water and avoid heavy and greasy meals. This will help you feel less bloated and more relaxed.
- Wax or shave whatever part that is needed and keep your skin hydrated.
- If a nude shoot will be performed trim as appropriate.
- Pamper yourself the night before with a manicure and pedicure, keep nails natural looking with no color or a French manicure; unless something specific is required for the shoot.
- For a more healthier looking and glowing skin moisturize well the entire body, especially hands and feet if special attention is necessary.
- For Nudes do not wear tight fitting clothing before your shoot. Any straps, elastics, etc. will leave marks, and those take time to disappear. Wear loose fitting clothing to avoid this problem; a robe is recommended for when coverage is needed during the shoot.
- Check out photos that you like on the internet or magazines and practice the poses, it will make you feel more comfortable.
- Make available a good attitude and express yourself to the camera.
